Coordinate remote language services between customers and language professionals.

  • Support remote interpreting projects as needed
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues submitted by customers and language professionals
  • Communicate with clients regarding project status and any project-related issues
  • Work closely with other key teams/team members and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate personnel
  • Provide excellent customer service and fulfill customer needs to ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure total client satisfaction on output quality and project completion schedules
  • Follow up on requests when necessary to obtain additional information needed for remote language services projects
  • Work with team members each day to ensure customer satisfaction  and create long-lasting customer relationship
  • Daily and constant monitoring of reports and address service requests 
  • Identify and review any technical problems, and communicate issue resolutions with department
  • Handle sensitive and confidential data in accordance with company privacy, HIPAA, and security policies
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding interpreters
  • Provide interpreting and translation services when needed for a variety of domains: legal, general medical, mental health, technical, business, and other documentation
  • Audit a representative sample of calls to ensure quality and take appropriate action as required
  • Provide scheduled on-call support, as needed

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college and/or two-year related experience and/or training

The Customer Service Representative/Scheduler will work closely with other key teams and team members to staff a variety of interpretation projects. Ensures total client satisfaction and project completion schedules. Participates in resolving problems across various functions and processes, maintain profit margin per work order. Assist in development and nurturing of client and vendor relationships.

  • Organize and coordinate a variety of interpretation projects
  • Analyze and staff interpretation requests for a variety of clients
  • Assist in negotiation with interpreters and other contractors to ensure project completion within budget
  • Exercise excellence in customer service
  • Create and update work orders with up-to-the-minute information about each assignment while ensuring there are no mistakes (e.g., double bookings, incorrect work orders, duplicate work orders, incorrect language, incorrect project codes, etc.)
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure each assignment is properly fulfilled
  • Answer queries from interpreters and/or direct them to the relevant individuals when needed
  • Respond to client queries and escalate potential problems with completion of project tasks to supervising staff in a timely manner
  • Ensure clear and accurate instructions for each assignment are provided
  • Carry out on-call duties on a scheduled rotating basis: Emails, Emergencies
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college in Business Administration and/or Linguistics or related field and two-year related experience and/or training

Location: Remote (must be US-based)

The ideal candidate understands how translation workflows work and can prepare, adapt, and recreate files for multilingual production. This role requires close collaboration with project managers and linguists to ensure files are translation-ready and accurately rebuilt after translation.

  • Prepare source files for translation, ensuring compatibility with Phrase and other CAT/TMS tools.
  • Recreate and finalize translated files while preserving layout, formatting, styles, and functionality
  • Work with a wide range of file formats, including but not limited to:
    • InDesign (INDD, IDML)
    • Illustrator (AI)
    • Photoshop (PSD)
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • PDF (editable and non-editable)
    • HTML, XML, and other structured formats
  • Ensure correct handling of tags, variables, and placeholders coming from Phrase
  • Troubleshoot formatting, text expansion, font, and encoding issues across languages
  • Apply localization best practices (text expansion, RTL/LTR considerations, line breaks, etc.)
  • Deliver files that meet client and linguistic requirements within agreed deadlines

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must be based in the United States
  • Proven experience as a DTP specialist in the translation/localization industry
  • Strong understanding of translation workflows and file preparation for CAT/TMS tools
  • Hands-on experience working with Phrase (or similar TMS platforms)
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, Publishing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications or coursework in Desktop Publishing, Localization Engineering, or Translation Technologies are a strong plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience as a DTP Specialist within the translation and localization industry.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing and rebuilding files for CAT/TMS-driven translation workflows.
  • Proven proficiency working with Phrase or comparable TMS platforms, as well as industry-standard CAT tools.
  • Advanced, professional-level experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and professional experience will be considered.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience with multilingual and complex language layouts
  • Familiarity with QA processes in localization projects

The Interpreter: ASL provides American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, transliteration and sight translation communication access either consecutively or simultaneously to appointed Deaf or Hard of Hearing and associated clientele.

General duties include without limitation:

  • Adhere to NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Adhere to and follow all MasterWord ISO required processes in reporting, escalation and documentation.
  • Adhere to the MasterWord Communication Plan for all internal and external communications.
  • Attend scheduled division specific events when applicable.
  • Includes but not limited to: provide effective communication interpretation services to members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community both in-person and remotely in diverse industry settings
  • Support the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Department with internal interpretation needs for Deaf/HH staff, operational needs, and other duties for the division as assigned.
  • Provide observational feedback on operational or service adjustments that may be needed such as the recommendation for a Certified or Qualified Deaf Interpreter
  • Demonstrate MasterWord’s core values at all times in conjunction with any MasterWord performed duty or responsibility.

  • Must be RID or BEI certified.
