Green Initiative Environmental Policy

MasterWord is committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimizes our potential impact on the environment. We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do. MasterWord provides their employees the tools and education to support a culture of conservation and resource stewardship in the communities in which we live and serve. Our goals are to eliminate unnecessary waste and our level of consumption by educating and working with our staff to develop and implement various plans.

Policy

  • Integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into our decision making and activities.
  • Minimize our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as is possible.
  • Minimize energy and water use within our buildings and processes in order to conserve supplies and minimize the consumption of natural resources.
  • As far as is possible, purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment.
  • Train, educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work.
  • Promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Communicate our environmental commitment to clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it.
  • Where required by legislation or where significant health, safety or environmental hazards exist, develop and maintain appropriate emergency response programs.

MasterWord's Initiatives

Some of MasterWord’s sustainability initiatives include:

  • Implemented a ban on polystyrene (Styrofoam)
  • Installed filtered hydrant water systems, reducing the need for plastic bottles.
  • Initiated recycling behaviors so our staff can recycle everything that cannot be reused.
  • Implemented paperless process initiatives.
  • Replaced disposable plates and flatware with microwavable china and metal flatware.
  • Encouraged remote worker program to reduce carbon footprint.
  • Implemented “Smart Scheduling” resulting in reduced travel for employees and client reimbursable expenses.
  • Encourage employees to use Green Transportation initiatives offer by the city to minimize their carbon footprint when traveling.

MasterWord’s Green Initiative is all about helping create a company-wise culture of conservation. We look forward to continuing to partner with our staff on developing additional plans and goals to conserve resources and the tools to measure our success.
