Gabriela E Siebach
Gabriela is MWS Training and Assessments’ Manager and Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI). A former Cryptologic Linguist and Command Language Program Manager in the U.S. Army, Gabriela is intimately familiar with foreign language testing standards. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies with her coursework focused on foreign language and culture and has benefited from completing the highly regarded Defense Language Institute’s Foreign Language Program. Her extensive research and knowledge is applied to developing testing programs that help identify an individual’s communication skill level in a language.
Ryan Foley is a nationally recognized speaker and an ally to professionals striving for growth and success. For more than 15 years Ryan has worked as an interpreter, spoken nationally on communication, interpreter ethics and processes, and social dynamics across many fields. As a nationally certified sign language interpreter, Ryan has mentored and trained hundreds of interpreters and helped them become top level professionals in their own right.
Sabina, Senior Advisor of MasterWord Services European Operations, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in the United Kingdom. Though currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Exeter, Sabina holds a Master’s degree with translation and interpretation qualifications from the world renowned Monterey Institute of International Studies. Throughout her career, she has had the good fortune of working with universities, public and private sector companies and presenting at major conferences around the world.
Whitney A Gissell
Whitney is the Manager for Compliance and Quality Assurance for MWS and a BEI Advanced level certified American Sign Language interpreter. Her degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience from Texas A&M University laid the foundation of knowledge upon which she drew on during her experiences as the first staff American Sign Language Interpreter at the world renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center. During her time there, Whitney acquired deep familiarity with the opportunities and challenges of medical interpreting leading her to develop a collection of training courses for healthcare interpreters and translators that she has presented at forums across the country while she held the position of Training and Development Specialist for MasterWord Services. She currently serves as President of the Greater Houston Interpreters for the Deaf, on the board of Texas Association of Healthcare Interpreters and Translators and holds a seat on the Advisory Committee for Qualifications for Healthcare Translators and Interpreters established by the Texas Legislature.
Amira currently teaches Translation and Spanish as a Heritage Language at the Hispanic Studies Department of the University of Houston. She earned her PhD. in Spanish in 2010 at the University of Houston. Her main research areas are US-Hispanic Literature, Spanish as a Heritage Language in the US, Translation Studies and Translation Pedagogy. She has worked as a translator, proofreader and language expert for various institutions in the United States and Latin America.
Valeria Barraza Delmar
Valeria is a highly qualified translator and interpreter. She has worked in both translation and interpretation since 2004. In 2010, she received her MA in Translation and Interpretation from the prestigious Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Since that time, she has provided interpretation and translation for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. In addition to being a freelance interpreter, Valeria designs and teaches new interpreter trainings, among them the Introduction to Simultaneous Interpretation.
