Participants learn the difference between generalities and stereotypes, the danger of reciprocity of perspective, and how to work within the role of an interpreter to aid providers in clearing cultural hurdles.
Introduction to Mental Health Interpreting (1 hour)
This webinar provides a quick overview of practical techniques for managing mental health encounters.
Clearing the Ethical Minefield (6 hours)
This advanced workshop addresses questions such as: What is the difference between a moral decision and an ethical one? What is a cultural mediation problem versus an ethical dilemma? All participants will receive an e-certificate of attendance stating 0.6 CEUs (six contact hours) have been earned.
Advanced Memory and Note Taking (4 hours)
This workshop uses proven techniques that dramatically increase the quality and quantity of information an interpreter can retain. All participants will receive an e-certificate of attendance stating 0.4 CEUs (four contact hours) have been earned.
