CART services, unlike Closed Captioning services, capture spoken words and displays them on a weblink that can be accessed through a computer screen, tablet device, or projected unto a larger screen to make a live event and meetings accessible to Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals in attendance. On the other hand, Closed Captioning displays speech through an encoder onto a television or other screen for a broadcasted event or program.

All MasterWord CART Captioners follow the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) Code of Professional Ethics for CART and Broadcast Captioners as well as any local standards of practice or codes of ethics as applicable.
