Already with multiple degrees, Amelia Howe decided to change career paths and promote proper medical treatment through helping doctors and Spanish-speaking patients understand each other.

West University Place resident Amelia Howe received the first-ever scholarship from MasterWord Services, Inc., earlier this summer. The scholarship is a collaboration with the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and Houston Community College and cover Howe’s cost to take the CCHI certification exam for medical translation and interpretation.
