Influenza

Seasonal vaccination is needed because of antigenic shifts. Due annually by October 1st.

TDaP

Tetanus, Diphtheria, and acellular Pertussis vaccine (Whooping Cough). After the initial vaccination a TDAP booster is required every 10 years. (Required for select pediatric specialty facilities)

Varicella

A past history of chicken pox or shingles is acceptable evidence of immunity to varicella. If you are unaware of past infection, a varicella titer can be drawn. Otherwise, two varicella vaccinations are recommended for adults who have not had the natural disease.

MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

Two MMR vaccinations after one year of age are required. You may also send serologic documentation of immunity to Measles, Mumps & Rubella (Titer Test)

Tuberculosis (TB) Screening

TB Testing or Screening is due annually. Each year, the following will be required: TB test with negative results; or, verification of chest x-ray conducted within one year that shows no signs of active TB; or, verification of chest x-ray conducted over one year ago, accompanied by an additional symptom questionnaire/letter from your physician showing you are symptom-free of TB.

Hepatitis B (HBV)

A series of three (3) vaccinations over a six month period is required. Although a Language Professional’s work duties do not meet OSHA’s occupational exposure definition, Language Professionals will be required to either have the HBV vaccinations or provide a signed Mandatory OSHA Declination Statement.
