Translation & Localization

Q: How do I know if I need professional language services?
A: People are three times more likely to do business with you if you can address them in their native language. To tap into the potential market of the 92% of the world that does not speak English, you need a language solution provider to help you bridge the language gap between you and your success - present and future.
Q: What effect will a translation project have on my day-to-day business?
Do I have to put everything on hold while my materials are being
translated?
A: Our project managers are language specialists with executive-level decision-making experience who understand your needs from an insider's point of view. Our skilled teams of translators, engineers, QA experts, and desktop publishing specialists have the expertise to carry your project to successful completion, without interrupting the smooth flow of work that you rely on, leaving you free to concentrate on your core business.
Q: My company and its services are unique. Do I have to standardize
my documents and other materials to fit into your established system?
A: At MasterWord Services, Inc.™, we tailor our established processes to fit your requirements. Our business is not just about language, it's also about serving your needs. From the initial consultation to the final production, our goal is to assist you in any way we can to accomplish your business objectives.
Q: I can't speak these languages to check the accuracy of the product.
How can I be sure of the quality of the translation and localization
services I'm receiving?
A: Every document is translated by a qualified professional with experience in the appropriate subject matter, and then is thoroughly edited for style and content by a native speaker of the target language. The finished product is well-written, terminologically correct, and true to the exact meaning and tone of the original. Your work won't "read like a translation." For localization projects, MasterWord Services' teams of highly qualified QA experts, software experts, and Website engineers assure your product's complete functionality and cohesiveness in its new language.
Q: How can I keep the translation and localization as cost-effective as possible?
A: While all translations are performed by human translators, use of translation memory technology allows us to save time by avoiding duplication of effort, resulting in greater cost savings for you. Because this technology is completely compatible with industry-exchange standards, we can use many of your former translations or databases to further reduce translation time and costs.
Q: My documents are highly confidential. What assurances can you
give me that they'll remain that way?
A: Our full-time staff and contractors sign confidentiality and code of ethics agreements as a condition of employment with MasterWord Services, Inc.
Q: How can I reach you if I have urgent problems or questions?
A: MasterWord Services, Inc.™ is always prepared to help you get the job done. We are ready to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: I needed this yesterday. How long will it take to get it done?
We understand that time is crucial to your business. So, we have the in-house staff, resources, and sophisticated management processes in place to meet your turnaround and rapid update requirements.

Call us! One of our project coordinators will do their best to help you identify the possible language(s) spoken by your client. We can also provide you with relevant cultural information from our library.
Q: Are MasterWord interpreters certified?
MasterWord interpreters are assessed by our qualified staff for fluency and knowledge of technical terms. Many of our interpreters are required to prepare for each assignment using reference materials provided by our clients. In addition, many of our interpreters have been certified by third-party entities such as the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and the American Translators Association.
Q: Will the interpreter know how to translate technical terms related to
my project?
We will select and assign interpreters who have experience and/or specialized training to work in your field.
Q: Can the interpreter translate written documents when we are
not utilizing them?
Interpreters are trained and evaluated for their oral interpreting skills. In addition, interpreters must have excellent speaking skills and an ability to solve complex linguistic problems effectively. Only some interpreters also work as translators.

Translators are evaluated for their written translation skills. Translators’ strong suits are their research and computer skills. They are trained to produce documents that do not sound like translations and that look as close to the original as possible.

If your preference is someone skilled in both areas, please let us know. We will provide you with the most qualified professional possible.
Q: What’s the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?
Consecutive interpretation is the process by which the interpreter renders their interpretation during natural pauses in the conversation. Consecutive interpretation works most effectively during one-on-one meetings or group discussions.

Simultaneous interpretation is used most often during more formal meetings in which one person will do the majority of the speaking (such as conferences and workshops) or when a meeting must take place with minimal interruptions (such as a legal proceeding). Call us with more information about your meeting and we will help you determine the best possible solution for your meeting.
Q: How can we be assured that our confidential information will
remain so?
Our full-time staff and interpreters sign confidentiality and code of ethics agreements as a condition of employment with MasterWord Services, Inc.
Q: What if I need to cancel the interpreter?
Please call us directly at 281-589-0810 as soon as possible.
